गाय की रक्षा और पर्यावरण को बचाने के लिए हमें गौकाष्ठ को अपनाना होगा। गौकाष्ठ देसी गाय के गोबर से बनी लकड़ी है। जब हम गाय कहते हैं तो इसका मतलब गौ वंश होता है चाहे वह गाय, बैल, बैल या बछड़ा हो। गाय अपने पूरे जीवनकाल में सीमित अवधि के लिए दूध देती है, बैल या बैल दूध नहीं देते हैं, लेकिन गाय का गोबर पूरे जीवनकाल तक उपलब्ध रहता है। इसलिए अगर गोबर का पूर्ण मुद्रीकरण किया जाए तो गौशालाओं को स्वतंत्र बनाने की दिशा में एक अच्छा कदम हो सकता है और इससे सड़कों पर गाय की समस्या का भी समाधान होगा। गौकाष्ठ का उपयोग विश्राम घाटों/श्मशान घाटों, होलिका दहन, लोहड़ी उत्सव, हवन/पूजा अनुष्ठान, ईंट निर्माण इकाइयों, बॉयलर या बिजली संयंत्रों में किया जा सकता है। संक्षेप में गौकाष्ठ ईंधन का एक अच्छा विकल्प हो सकता है, जहां भी पेड़ की लकड़ी/कोयला का उपयोग किया जाता है उसे गौकाष्ठ से बदला जा सकता 4 इंच व्यास और 2-3 फुट लंबा तथा बीच में छेद वाला ग्वाकाष्ट दाह संस्कार के लिए सर्वोत्तम है। ग्वाकाष्ट को पवित्र माना जाता है और यह हिंदू मान्यताओं के अनुरूप है। इसका उपयोग प्राचीन काल में गोबर के उपलों की खेती में किया जाता था। केवल दाह संस्कार केंद्रों में इसके उपयोग से भारत में गौशालाओं के लिए 2500 करोड़ रुपये का वार्षिक राजस्व प्राप्त हो सकता है। अन्य क्षेत्रों में भी गौशालाओं के लिए राजस्व का बड़ा स्रोत उपलब्ध होगा।
महात्मा गांधी ने कहा था कि भारत की आत्मा गाँवों में बसती है और गाँवों को स्वतंत्र बनाने के लिए हमें गौशालाओं को स्वतंत्र बनाना होगा। गायें गाँवों में पाली जाती हैं और गाँवों में बड़ी संख्या में गौशालाएँ हैं। गौकाष्ठ के उपयोग से गौशालाएँ स्वतंत्र होंगी और बदले में ग्रामीणों को अच्छी आय होगी।
गौकाष्ठ के उपयोग से दाह संस्कार 100% संभव है, हमें लकड़ी की बिल्कुल भी आवश्यकता नहीं है। भोपाल में डॉ. योगेन्द्र सक्सेना के प्रयासों से अधिकांश श्मशान केंद्रों को गौकाष्ठ में स्थानांतरित कर दिया गया है और जयपुर, दिल्ली में भी ऐसा ही चल रहा है। दिल्ली में मार्च 2023 में पंजाबी बाग विश्राम घाट में गौकाष्ठ से पहला दाह संस्कार किया जा चुका है।
जून 2023 में वर्धमान इंडस्ट्रीज का 19 मेगा वाट का पावर प्लांट गौकाष्ट पर संचालित होगा और अब वे इसे लागू करने और जल्द ही 5000 गौवंश क्षमता वाली गौशालाएँ खोलने की प्रक्रिया में हैं।
हमें इसके उपयोग के लिए जागरूकता लाने की आवश्यकता है, या संक्षेप में, केंद्र/राज्य सरकार के आदेश से इसे कम समय में श्मशान घाटों पर लागू किया जा सकता है।

To protect cow and save environment we need to adopt Gaukasht. Gaukasht is wood made from Desi cow dung . When we say cow its mean Gau Vansh weather cow, bull, ox or calf. In whole life span cow gives milk for limited period, bull or ox don’t give milk, but Cow dung is available whole life span. So if cow dung fully monetization can be good step to make Gaushalas Independent and will also address issue of cow on street. Gaukasht can be used at vishram ghats / cremation centers, for Holika Dhan, Lohri celebration, Havan / Pooja ritual, Brick manufacturing units, Boilers or Power Plants. In short Gaushast can be a good alternate to fuel, wherever tree wood /coal is used it can be replaced by Gaukasht. Gaukasht reduces pollution apprx 35% compared to wood and its use will also save trees from cutting. 4 inch dia and 2-3 ft long & having hole in center guakasht is best for cremation. Guakasht is considered Holly and reconcile with Hindu belief and was used in past in farm of cow dung cake. Only use at cremation centre can generate annual revenue of Rs. 2500/- crores in India for gaushalas other segment will have also vast revenue generation for gaushallas. Mahatma Ghandi has said t India soul resides in villages and to make villages independent we need to make Gaushalas Independent. Cows are kept in villages and there are wide spread gaushalas in villlages, Use of Gaukasht will make gaushallas Independent and in turn good revenue of rural people.
Cremation is possible with use of Gaukasht to extend of 100% we don’t need wood at all. In Bhopal with efforts of Dr Yogenra Saxena most of cremation centers are shifted cremations to Gaukasht and Jaipur, Delhi is on the way. In Delhi March 2023 first cremation with Gaukasht has been done in Punjabi Bagh Vishram Ghat.
In June 2023 Vardhman Industeries 19 megha watt power plant is operated on gaukasht and now they are in process of implementing it and opening of Gaushallas with capacity of 5000 Gau vansh shortly
We need to bring awareness for its use or in short by order of Central / State Government it can be implemented at Cremation centers in short time span.
